Sigh... can't seem to get an appt...

OK..  so I didn't get my band filled on 2/26 because of it's position.  

I understood the nurse to say, she would schedule it and get back to me...  nothing from her, I called my doctor's office and a different nurse said, no, it would have to be scheduled with radiology....   SO... I call radiology...  they say, no, it has to be scheduled through the doctor's office...  UGH...  so, I've got another call into the doctor's office....  

I have to say as frustrating as this is right now, this is the first time I've had any trouble getting anything done through my doctor's office, so I've not lost patience yet, maybe it is just getting lost in the shuffle somewhere?

Thank you for letting me let out my frustration..   I'll keep you posted on the when/if the appt ever gets scheduled...  I really would like a fill!!!

Just hang in there Amy, it will happen. I am in need of a fill so bad myself. I was suppose to have gotten one on the 16th, but had to cancel due to my surgery, that I had to cancel, to be with my mom. So now that they have a new surgery date of the 9th, I won't be able to get in until sometime after that. I so wanted to a fill before surgery, because I am going to be limited as to what I can do. I am hoping that I will get so frustrated trying to eat with my left hand, that I will just say the heck with it and drink a protien shake........lol Just keep bugging them and stay on top of things it will all work out.

 I love most of my doctors here at Vandy, but I have to say the support staff leaves lots to be desired.  I wonder how many calories the "run around," burns?? 

I was supposed to be informed of when my insurance packet was sent and when I was approved and when the surgery would be scheduled.  None of that happened--I had to dig it out of them or discover it on my own through MyHealth.  Now, however, I am getting phone calls every few days to remind me that my surgery has been scheduled.  ???  

If you haven't already set yourself up with MyHealth at Vandy, I'd do it and send a note directly to Dr. Richards and let him know that you are having issues getting your fill scheduled.  Until then, I suspect the nurses (not like Jennifer, but the nurses that assist the doctors) and the schedulers will just play hot potato with your appointment until someone actually forces them to work.  

Hang in there and keep bugging them!  And let us know when it's scheduled!

I just love you guys, no one has ever told me to continue to be a pest before!    But I agree, it is the squeaky wheel that gets the most grease.  I am set up on MyHealth, and I have sent messages.   I have now called Dr. Richard's secretary, Brenda, whom seems to be able to get things moving sometimes, so we shall see.

I'll keep bugging them, cause I don't want to drive down there to be told that it didn't get scheduled.

 I'm sure it's gonna get worse before it gets better because they are beginning the transition of the clinic to the 100 Oaks facility.  I forget the exact date they start seeing patients there, but I know it's in April.  So I'm sure it'll be hairy for awhile.

I'm just glad I got through all the pre-surgical stuff and am approved with a surgery date.  In the move confusion, I'm sure things will take a bit longer to process.

Now get back to your pestin'!  Heeee heee!

I am SCHEDULED!!!!  ding, ding, ding!!!!!!

I am now scheduled on 3/10 at 9:00am with Jennifer and 11:00am with Radiology!  

So, now I am excited, I finally get my first fill!!!
